An exciting role as an Application Systems Analyst based in Danbury, Connecticut. This function would support the IT team. In this position, the individual should be able to identify the features of a software application and determine the advantages, disadvantages and trade-offs between the different features. This function must evaluate and test applications and keep track of complex and extensive data sets. While it’s crucial to develop your technical skills, soft skills like organization and attention to detail are also essential in this role. The Application System Analyst must also be great at problem-solving and efficient at multitasking.

This involves a range of activities including:

  • Assist end users that use the ERP software (Chemical Management System) and third-party software to determine their needs and map these needs into existing system functionality or suggest alternative methods or solutions.
  • Monitor employee support requests related to software applications that are submitted through the Help Desk and address these requests in a timely manner based on impact to the organizational mission and operations.
  • Coordinate resources to promptly and cost-effectively address employee requests with a strong focus on communicating the plan and current status.
  • Coordinate with IT management as well as the management of other departments for resolution of complex issues.
  • Keep IT management informed of all technical issues that adversely impact key business systems or processes.
  • Liaison between IT and other departments to streamline & re-engineer business and system processes that use the ERP software and other third-party software.
  • Develop written specifications for system modifications when appropriate and submit to IT management.
  • Liaison with ERP vendor to keep track of software issues, software updates, and new versions.
  • Monitor ERP software processes/procedures in support of business activities such as software updates, physical inventory, and other functions.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Complies with all BRI environmental and safety policies and procedures.

You Offer…

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar field plus five (5) years of related experience or 10+ years of related experience with work experience only
  • An excellent understanding of application systems and business processes in order to implement solutions.
  • General experience in ERP Systems Implementation, Support, and Project Management. Experience in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Proficiency with software including Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel, Word and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other data manipulation tools.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, reporting and BI tools would be helpful.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of business processes and ERP system features within a manufacturing environment.
  • A proven passion for technology and problem solving, continuous improvement, and proactive in identifying and presenting potential solutions. Must be self-motivated, organized, and can work independently or as a team player.
