An exciting role as a Maintenance Technician/General Mechanical in our Production Facility based in Danbury, Connecticut.

This function assists in general maintenance of pipe cutting, preassembly and installation of plumbing systems and components under supervision. This function also monitors production management systems to determine operational status and system malfunctions. This function may build, test, troubleshoot, repair, design, and modify production equipment related to plumbing.

You Offer…

  • Knowledge of the mechanical operation of equipment such as pumps, boilers, heaters, and other plumbing components.
  • Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of plumbing systems.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems.
  • Operates reamers, threading discs, sewer tapes, pipe cutters, snakes, and other plumbing equipment and hand tools.
  • Assist with the instillation, repair or replacement of hot and cold water lines, building heating systems, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices and pipes.
  • May operate machine tools to fabricate parts.
  • Maintains current knowledge relevant to state-of-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with of Mig, Tig and Stick welding. Work on projects involving welding as needed.
  • Ensures proper care, safety and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Complies with all BRI environmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • May operate forklift and other heavy machinery.
  • Assist with routine inspection and maintenance on building system components.

You offer…

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A directly related higher degree from an accredited institution or technical certification/license in a plumbing related field may be substituted for experience.
  • Ability to record and/or log equipment operational status.
  • Ability to utilize, test, maintain and modify a range of engineering equipment and apparatus.
  • Ability to assist with building and testing engineering and/or scientific systems and components.
  • Knowledge and experience with of mig, tig and stick welding.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
  • Plumbing installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals. Ability to write reports containing technical information.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

An exciting role as a Maintenance Staff Manager based in Danbury, Connecticut.

This function oversees a group of 10-15 maintenance technicians. This function works with the maintenance program manager, maintenance scheduler, operations, EHS to coordinate scheduling and ensure quality, timeliness and safety of maintenance work performed. This function conducts periodic performance discussions with staff and annual reviews. This function conducts daily check ins with maintenance staff as needed to ensure work being performed according to best practices, standards and design requirements. This function is responsible for maintaining conditions of facilities and developing and executing infrastructure improvement projects. This function is able to perform independent pipe and equipment repairs as needed. This function oversees and coordinates on-site contractors and quality of job done. This involves a range of activities including:

  • Work with maintenance planner, maintenance program manager and production to develop weekly schedules and assign work to technicians.
  • Responsible for work order execution and accountability.
  • Responsible for direct maintenance staff supervision and conducting performance reviews.
  • Responsible for developing campus and facility infrastructure improvements such as building maintenance, landscaping, fencing.
  • Responsible for facility contractor coordination, support and daily monitoring of work to ensure quality, timeliness, safety and cost effective use of contractors.
  • Knowledgeable in Lock-Out Tag-Out, Hot Work Permitting, Energized Line Break, Confined Space Entries
  • Identifies or escalates areas for improved Safety/reliability of plant systems and Production Equipment.
  • Utilize design documentation such as site plan, piping layout, P&ID, electrical schematics and OEM Installation manuals to oversee job/work order execution.
  • Interface with engineering and provides design input for project design.
  • Daily / frequent check in with operations supervisors to discuss priority changes and reassign work as needs change. Candidate must be flexible to changes in priorities and communicate these to the group and maintain positive attitude in the group.
  • Work with planner, maintenance program manager and technicians to ensure critical spare parts are ordered and replenished after work.
  • Ideal candidate would be able to independently perform pipe joinery, equipment repairs, rigging, lathe tooling, electrical if needed
  • Assists reporting department Key Performance Indicators.
  • Core working hours are M-F 7-4PM but additional support for maintenance technicians working in evening, overnight shifts or weekends may be required by phone or in person for troubleshooting, coordination or support of production critical repairs.
  • Complies with all BRI environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

You Offer…

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multiple trade maintenance teams in an industrial production environment is desirable.
  • 3rd party certification in any of the piping, mechanical, HVAC or electrical trades is desireable.
  • Familiar using CMMS Software to manage Preventive Maintenance and Repair requests.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, architectural drawings, facility plan drawings, P&ID’s, Isometrics, Bill of Materials and use measurement tools to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Familiar with generally accepted best practices for piping, electrical, foundation, structural and equipment installation and validation testing.
  • Able to communicate with contractors on expectations for construction quality and effectively resolve construction quality, scope, and schedule coordination concerns.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD and experience in piping design, facility layout drawings, architectural renderings is desirable.
  • Able to communicate in real time with internal stakeholders from engineering, ownership, operations, EHS and other groups to provide status of ongoing repairs and projects.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in the following areas
  • Pipe joinery including threading, brazing, welding
  • Electrical wiring for power and control (24V DC, 110AC, 480V AC)
  • Knowledge of equipment repair such as Air Operator Double Diaphragm Pumps, Medium Pressure Steam Boiler, Air Cooled Chillers, Air Compressors, Rotating Equipment (Mixers, Pumps, Fans), HVAC Systems, ANSI B31.3 metallic piping, Brazed Copper Piping, Threaded Carbon Steel Piping
